Do you bill vaccine counseling codes?
Yes. When the provider counsels the patient or family, we bill vaccine administration with counseling codes 90460 and 90461; otherwise we use 90471–90474.
How do you bill vaccines from the Vaccines for Children program?
We bill only the administration fee for VFC-supplied vaccines, following your state's Medicaid rules for reporting the vaccine product.
Can we bill a sick visit during a well-child visit?
When a significant, separate problem is addressed and documented, we bill the problem-oriented visit with modifier 25 alongside the preventive visit.
